How to Better View the Internet
Click on the "SETTINGS" tabBeing able to adjust your monitor's display resolution will help you to not only see more on your monitor screen but all of the images that you do view while you surf the Internet will be much clearer than ever before! This tutorial will walk you through a few easy steps to change your monitor's display settings. Follow these steps and you will be on your way to a faster, sharper Internet experience!

From your desktop in Windows 95/98 right click with your mouse on the center of your desktop. Click on PROPERTIES. A menu will appear much like what is displayed on the right...

1. From the "Display Properties" box you will see 6 tabs across the top. Click on SETTINGS.

2. Look for a "Screen Area" box towards the bottom right of the settings window. Move the slide bar to the right. Doing so will increase the monitors viewing resolution.

Check the "Screen Area" and ColorsNOTE: The following are the most common monitor viewing resolutions:
640X480 - low resolution. (Poor)
800X600 - most common for today's Internet viewing. (Good)
1024X768 - Affords the best viewing of the Internet. (Best)

3. Once you have adjusted you screen to one of these resolutions look for a box labeled "COLORS." Click on the down arrow and if your monitor is not set for at least "High Color (16 bit) then click on it. You may also have the choice of True Color (32 bit) select this one if you like for the best in color display and detail. Note that some laptops and PC's will not allow True Color (32bit).

Once you have completed click on "OK." This will bring up a box informing you that the PC is going to adjust the monitors display settings. When it does, and you like the way your monitor displays the new screen settings, then click "OK."

NOTE: When you change the display setting on your PC it will seem that things have gotten smaller. This is normal! It will take you only a small amount of time to get used to it.

Happy Surfing!
